I would love to go over to Greece after school and play basketball. My dad is actually working on trying to get me dual citizenship now…I would love to play basketball overseas. So that would be the best place to do it. I’m trying to learn Greek now and stuff like that. It’s exciting.

One aspect to being Greek American is what I call the “Greek discount.”  That is, when you meet someone on the street and you find out that he is Greek. So if you’re buying a sandwich from him, he will tell you to take it for nothing or at a 50% discount.

Whenever I’m having a stressful moment or time, I just want to go back to Greece and Cyprus and be there. It helps me here when I’m stressed out. I just kind of regress back there in my mind.

People ask how I identify myself, and I’ll say Greek and Italian. If you say Cypriot, everyone asks, “What’s that? Where is Cyprus?” So I think Greek is just easier. That’s what my dad does, too. He will say he is Greek first.
